Ive been called a hoarder by more than a few people. I was after this 56 for a while and it was given to me on a condition of no chev motor. So a 409 Olds it got .I think I had everything used on this build in shop except brakes and fuel tank
No seat in the stash? Hey, so long as you aren't letting things rot out on the fenceline, do it your way. Some will say even that is fair game since it's yours, but that's just taunting.
Dang, the thread ***le sounds like an impossible dream! Every car I drag home begins another influx of parts! You jump started the project and probably cleaned up your shop at the same time. Future plans for the car? Is the engine a 400 with an overbore?
the motor is a 403 from 77 station wagon, more popular from trans ams, punched .030. has a healthy camshaft in her too so it sounds amd runs strong
My pal had a TA with the 403 and factory Q jet. He wired the secondaries closed on long trips for mileage.
I get a ton of satisfaction whenever I use up a part or some material that I've had squirreled away for a long time. It feels so... justifying. I really like that 4 spoke steering wheel too, I've got a collection of similar ones but I never saw that specific design before.
I love the 403 motor , IF and thats a big if you can keep your foot out of it, we got 16mpg in a few old Cutl*** I ran them in. Sounding cool is more important than milage though lol
I feel sad when I see empty spots on shelf and want to fill them back up . The 4 spoke is cool, hadnt seen one before I bought it a few years back , ended no staying in car , put red metalflake one in I had , the larger diameter is nice for no PS.
No Chevy in a Chevy????? What was the seller a guy who decided to get even for all the SBCs installed in Ford Model As?
That was how you built a REAL G***ER back in the 50's and 60's before poser g***ers showed up. With a 55/56 Chevy you pulled the six or 265 out and put in a Buick or Olds engine.
