Not super old, but got an American Strat and a fender red knob super 112 I just picked up. These dang rk amps are drastically underrated. Got it for $200!!! 60 watts all tube, and I'd put the clean channel up against any evil twin I've ever heard. Loud AF too....
I like that color on that strat! That amp is super cool do you know what year? I just picked up a 1952 Gibson guitar amp kinda rough but works. I need to take a picture and post it
Not sure, late 80s early 90s is when they were produced tho I think. Dirty channel is garbage but accepts pedals fantasticly.
The CBS-era headstock style looks great, too. I like both. Fender amps are ridiculously loud. My 100w Marshall with 6 12"s can't keep up with my 60w Fender Deville 4x10. I don't care what the alleged wattage is, there is no comparison in terms of the perception of volume between the two. Mesas are the same way. I've played 15w combos that could melt concrete.
Yeah gigging in my 20s I had a jcm 2000 dsl and a big 412 before I finally figured out I was lugging all that weight around for nothing, lol.... I've been kinda looking at a few 80s Kramer barettas. You guys ever play one of those? They're calling my name for some reason. The strat sounds amazing clean and certain other sounds, but missing me some humbucker bridge tones, and wouldn't mind something with a Floyd Rose on it.... Edit : my wife was in LA this week and hada meeting at CAA and this was in the lobby. One of Ringos 8 drop T kits. Pretty awesome...
