I don't know any details but I just heard today that Joel Peters p***ed, it was a shock to me... I apologize if this has already been posted. Condolences to Lupe and family... First time I met Joel was at the Detroit Autorama and pinstriped with him and others in the Chicago Brushmasters booth. He was such a positive dude and always posting in Friday Art shows etc. So supportive to anyone learning how to stripe. Last time I talked to him was last year about this time I ran into one of his friends buying art supplies in Minneapolis and sent him a selfie with his buddy Joe. Salt of the Earth... God Speed Dude.
@Jeff Norwell had brought it up on the member emeritus thread. Thanks for posting the visitation information. Do you have a date on that last photo? Maybe you guys can bring back some of his work he posted on the FAS
So sorry to hear of Joel's p***ing. He was one of my silent heroes here on the HAMB. His custom photos page on Rik Hoving's (@Rikster) Custom Car Photo Archive was always a HUGE help when I was doing the What Ever Happened To Thread. I've been here long enough to remember when he used to post and he was always a wealth of kustom information. When he stopped hanging out here it was definitely our loss. We did talk back and forth a few times, but not very often. Even though I didn't know him very well, just knowing that he's no longer with us makes the world a sadder place. My deepest condolences to his wife, family and all of his friends everywhere. He will be missed! Vaya con Dios Joel, a.k.a. @Peter Pan of Chicago..........E
This is hard to believe I met Joel back in the late 70s cruising Archer ave. He had a 65 Pontiac white/flames. Nice guy. Got to talk to him a couple years ago at Dukes (on the last weekend). We were some of the first members of P.O.C.I. Il chapter. He was one of the premier pin stripers back then. Most of the cars at the Chicago rod and custom show back then had his name on them. We lost a great artist and a great guy. RIP
RIP and condolences. Here's his Instagram page (if you have it) with some of his work and pics. https://www.instagram.com/pinstripedelight/?hl=en
Joel was a kind, generous and all-around nice person, full of knowledge and stories and always willing to share them His p***ing is a hard loss to our community.
