Years ago I brought a 20 year field dweller back from the dead. 53 chevy, ***led as a 51...had some real good times with it... Settled down for a good long while and left it sitting in storage. Now, at 51, that I've gone and made some really poor decisions, i have some time on my hands... I've purchase a 54 that's got a decent body, that I intend to swap onto the built ch***is of the 53 that's been stored for years. I haven't participated on the HAMB for a long time....I was otherwise engaged...so i'll do my best to keep this thread updated in the event anyone is interested. This winter i intend on detaching this new body from its original ch***is and in the spring, transfer it to the good one. It is possible to drive it before the snow flies next year, if i keep at it. This isn't show car stuff, this is finishing what I started stuff. And frankly, the boy child (my stepson) has been asking about the "rusty old chevy" since he was 5....he's 19 now. Shown in photo's is the kid after helping me get the seats to storage and push this ***** into the workspace. This weekend is dried mouse body, black walnut, and carpet removal...as well as gas tank siphoning.
Carpet and dead mice and black walnuts removed, including behind the rear seat panels...gas tank relatively emptied, to do list started. Stoked to see floors are solid....way better than what I started with on the '53 originally.
Must have been worked on by the same guy that did my 51. I hate that particle type carpet pad, especially when it is in a car.
