if you don't want people picking on your car stack a bunch of **** in front of it so you can't get it out the door and drive your daily and park outside the gate.

 

Or how many times I’ve heard “I had a 428 Pontiac just like that one except it had tripower. It was an experimental engine that got put in by mistake or his (insert relationship) worked on the line and put it in as a favor”.

Nice try, last Pontiacs with factory tripower was the 1966 model year, 389 in the GTO and 421 in the big cars. My car is a 1967. I gave up saying anything years ago, just let them ramble on.

Reading this thread with morning coffee brought up a memory of two of "That Guy" , Experts, one being the owner discussing his restoration of his AMC AMX car, beautiful job/car IMO. It escalated from a discussion, to shouting, to one step short of a fight, finally one expert backed down and walked away. After a while I talked with the owner of the car as I was parked next to him, was curious and asked what was that all about, turns out it was a small logo type emblem down behind the front wheel well near rocker level, disagreement if it was the correct one. The p***ion for our hobby is strong and I have had a few short moments with "Experts" and learned to avoid by just walking away instantly. As a side note, I've been here 16 years now and it's a friendlier HAMB, IMO. Have a great day, The HAMB, best car site on the net.
