I know this is about Shorts, but that stretched out Ranchero is soooo cool!

Shorties aren't a waste of resources at all. Many times they're made from vehicles that were considered worthless and found a new life as abbreviated cars. A far better outcome than being junked.

Generally not a shortie guy, but I rather like the shorty Model A sedans.

The tri-5 long roofs have the best shot of pulling it off, if you really gotta...
    Some are really well done.

    To each their own.
An observation....the tri-five Chevys need the windshield lowered at the same time, always looks too tall on these conversions.

  22. This Exactly^^^!

I am under no delusions that the "Cut" / bodywork on Stubby was done well & since I have been driving it, the bodywork is cracking more:D. At least the installation of the front stub & straight axle were done properly & I have been fixing some of the Mickey Mouse **** like fuel pressure regulator mounted on a header bolt with long rubber line up to the carbs:eek:

I don't think I would ever do one, but I am NOT disappointed I bought Stubby at all. It is a ball to drive/beat on. Nothing is more cathartic & puts a bigger smile on my face than a BIG launch & a run through the gears!

My friend Johnny Sweet down in South Carolina has built several of them over the years, but he is a perfectionist & his are all built properly.

By the way...I am not at all offended by those that think Stubby is ugly.....That is part of the fun.

    God Bless
    Bill

  24. If they are not opposed to cutting up a 4 door car, why not just convert to a 2 door?
it seems to be pretty common on tri 5 chevies.

  26. Even as a kid in the 90s when shorties were everywhere just looking at them made me feel claustrophobic lol. Never felt claustrophobic looking at a shortened pickup bed

Thumbs up to everything but the mural! Guess I'm more of a dragons and swords guy.
I'd love to see a wheelie shot. Is that thing narrowed?

Not my cup of tea, But I can appreciate the work involved and "Different Strokes for Different Folks" applies. The best part of our car hobby IS the diversity OR we could all have a red Corvette and find something stupid to ***** about them.

Sort of On Topic. This is laid out like a teardrop trailer, sleeping area in front and cooking area at the back.
