PHOTOS: What I saw at SEMA...lots of pics!!!!!!

  1. What's the story on this little thing?

I dig it, but the wire wheels would have to go, or at least use a smaller wheel with a larger sidewall bias ply. Less of a wedge shape would help take away some of the catoon aspcet of it, but that's a cool lookin' ride. Any details?

    OldcarMike,

A recent (the most recent?) issue of The Rodder's Journal has a large entry on it. Neat car. Thanks for all of the pictures, Kirk. I'm an exotic/hot rod car guy, so it's funny to see the difference between the groups. People in the exotic groups laugh at these hot rods for not being able to race around tracks and not being comfortable, and people here call Bugattis concepts... Lol.

That's pretty funny since it's currently Dayton Wire Wheel's poster car for the moment! Like someone else said, a couple of TRJ's ago had a big feature on it.

  7. Thanks for the info fellas, I'll have to take a closer look.

I can name only 3 cars I've seen that I wouldn't change a thing on:

    The Matranga Merc
    Doane Spence's '32
    The Moonglow

That's the beauty of this affliction of our, there's plenty of room to adjust it to your personal liking.

Great pics. Thanks for the posting. I believe Leno's car is powered by a Honeywell LT101 turbine engine.
Got to go to the SEMA - Vegas one of these years.

I did a ton of work on this thing. Ironically, it's called 'The Wedge'. Powered by a 400+ hp Zakspeed 4 banfer (think Indy car) w/ a World Cl*** 5Speed, it rocks. Glad ya like it. I'm proud of the work I did on it.
BTW....Ashley Webb, owner, did a lot on it also. She deserves most of the credit for the build.

That's cool. I figured the stuff in the magazines about her working on it was just magazines trying to make it sound like she wasn't getting given a car. Good to hear she was really building it for herself--it's a neat little ride.

Kirk - thanks a bunch for all the pics. And thanks for taking the time to stop and yak with me.

You know, the SEMA show is so big that even after walking and gawking for two solid days (Thursday was spent at AAPEX), I still didn't see everything. Your photos proved that. Kirk, thanks for the pics, even though some made me want to gouge out my eyes!!! What's up with those guys building the Donks?

This was one of the first cars I looked at when I came to the show and I was so excited after I saw it that I just wanted to leave and go home to work on mine!!! AWESOME! Lots of detail and TONS of clever things going on with the car... Also... the builder, Josh was way rad! Very cool guy!

I have some more pics of this car also, I'll try to remember to post them. It was in Rodders Journal recently too. If you haven't read up on it you should.

Josh, if you're lurking, thanks for your time man! I will be in touch!

Thanks for the pics Kirk! Excellent!

  21. Great pics Kirk. Stopped by the booth a couple of time to meet you and talk to Gary but never hooked up. Did see Gary and Marilyn Wednesday night though.

Guess I should post some of the pics I took but we're still trying to catch up.....

The Landcruiser was built to commemorate the old landcruiser alongside their new FJ Cruisers. Theres actually a lot of things goin on for the truck. Its an '84 Lancruiser body brought back to the states (looks like a 69 or so) and was chopped, narrowed, and channeled. The coolest thing about the truck is the most over-looked- it has a 750hp Toyota NasTruck engine.

that bugatti Veyron supercar is an awesome piece of engineering. ive been readin about that car for years, its fiunally in production.

i think that the price is actually 1 million Euros, but i could be wrong..

that Dynaliner coupe renewed my intrest in 32 fords a little.

i still feel a 33/34s have a MUCH MUCH better look to them.

id still take the pierson coupe over that one.
