I have never been a fan of long bodied Hot Rods and am not sure what to do with the restored one I just purchased, which I know would make a great Hot Rod but in which direction?

I’d take a page from the Jake-o-pauge tub personally. Not so much in the glueing magazines to it but more in the at***ude /jist department

Well cutting one up is an option maybe with a 3 foot long bed behind it.

I always thought Norm’s tub ( on My Mother, the Car TV show ) was outrageous. I think any color would be great on it IMG_3262.jpeg

    Sell it
You'll never be happy with whatever you build. Someone is a fan of long bodies and is looking for their dream car.

  9. Well being you did mention a 3 foot long bed on the back. You do know the most Bad *** T out there started life as the front half of a Tub. I'm pretty sure Ivo's did also but it missed the mark in the Eye Ball market.

Moving the tailgate up to the 3-foot mark would be a good start but still a long way to go to get to the Kool mark.

Actually really dig the one silent Rick posted and most of that would be unbolting the back, not much cutting….

Far too nice to cut up, and it is a 1927 with the raised rings around the side curtain holes on the door tops. There was a very nice one built by a member of the Early Times, all those club cars were good looking.

Trade it for some parts you need for one of the cars you have.

When I came across my 31 Tudor I wasn't looking for anything that long, wanted a coupe.

2 door coupe was what I was looking for but after looking at it, and it was rough, I had this thought. Why build a 2 seater coupe when I could go ahead build the Tudor and actually share the fun of hot rods with my numerous grand kids ? I have 8 of them, right now they're between 1-1/2 years old with the oldest turning 9 today.

So I went back bought the Tudor body and never looked back.

A couple yrs ago my oldest grandson came into the shop while I had just the body and engine mocked up on the frame, after a couple of moments of serious thought he looks at me and says 'papa, I think with a gallon of gas we could have this thing running!"..

That's when I knew I made the right decision... point is when building something like this it's a time to share the fun with others, be it friends, kids, grandkids etc and then you have the ability to drive it and still share that time with multiple people at rhe same time...

Add a top over the front seats, a tailgate in the back and create the first Ranchero........

    Thanks @Joe Blow !

That is about as nice as I've seen one. Not much I'd change maybe a couple small pinstripes and that's about it.

    Love the nail head!!

I'd go full fendered, with A fenders, as it really looks good imho.

I’d definitely build it as a full fender car since it’s such a nice start for a build. Something along the line of what Lil’ John would do.

  27. Hot Rods need an At***ude; this one has it even if there are some things I'd adjust for my personal taste.

This one miss that mark that says, "Move the F over".
