Going to start banging dents out of a 54 Ford pickup in a couple weeks. I would love to have some ideas under the tree what to do with it after I'm done with the dents and a few small rust spots. Just can't decide, stock looking, g***er, low rider, patina, so many possibilities. :^)

My brother has recently started mulling over a blower for our Chrysler 354, my first thoughts was eight tall injector stacks and ethanol. We'll see what we can come up with.

  4. If you’re going to put a blower on a Hemi at least use a Hilborn injection on top. Just sayin.

The main thing I wish for is for all my fellow Hambers and their familys have a health new year, I know many of you guys have had some serious problems in the last few years and look forward to many more conversations with my Hamb family, I enjoy all the stories and build threads.

For myself, I ask Santa for a few parts I need to get Brenda's wagon back on the road and the energy to do the odds and ends on my old sedan I have been putting off. HRP

same as the last 40plus years, to win the lotto and get laid a lot

no wait, that's my new year's resolution.

make that world peace and to get laid occasionally, at least once a year

I need a garage, I have the equipment to put in one and have a stash of parts that would fill a set of shelves but no comfortable place to work. I may have to find a deal on a shipping container or one of those garages in a box you see show up at auctions.

The last few years around here have been filled with a lot of drama, heart ache, and expense.
A peaceful, quite, low drama year sounds like a winner to me as well.

I've discovered that old pickups are a lot of fun to just use and enjoy. There is nothing quite like having an old truck you can just jump in and go someplace, or do anything with. My suggestion for the 'new to you' truck is to look for a space in your life that will make it easy to jump in to the truck that will make it be the most useful vehicle you own. If you build it accordingly, you will probably use it more, and enjoy it a lot. That kind of makes the old truck feel like part of the family.

That is what I'm starting to think, I have 2 painted, polished, keep em clean rods already, I have some friends that just drive their patina (never painted) rods and have a ton of fun.

Just a little thing, a Bridgeport. With lots of tooling…

And whirled peas. No rewrite that. World peace!

My 49 Dodge was painted because there was too much metal without paint. Its too shiny, but I'm not letting that get in the way. I specifically built the truck to drive all year around, in any weather conditions (it is also a 4x4). We have been averaging 6,000 - 8,000 miles a year on it. The winters are already forming its own natural patina on it as the years add up (this is winter #4). Yesterday we were in the middle of a pretty big snow storm that dumped 10" - 12" of snow on us by this morning. Late yesterday afternoon, after I cleared the driveway and walks of about 6" of snow, at about the mid point of the snow storm, we took the 49 to go out to supper. After we cleared the snow off the drive and sidewalks this morning (of another 6" -8" of snow), we took the truck and went out for breakfast, sloppy roads and all. It gets a weekly bath, then drys in a heated garage, it's ready to go any time, anywhere. That is the kind of useful truck my old 49 pickup is. Picture taken last winter. 100_1148.JPG

Just wonder how much **** has to be sold off to fund the purchase of a new Miller TIG Welder. Should make for some great before and after photos. Best wishes to everyone!

The ambition to get back in the garage and finish my 29 Roadster Pickup, bought it and was just going to tinker with it but when I started fixing it there was too much wrong with it. Ended up being a frame off, finished the ch***is with a rebuilt banger with a Snyder's 5:5 to 1 head, Burns intake and a Holley 94 and an old Mallory dual point then health problem occurred and wasn't able to work on it for nine months. Been tinkering a little bit but can't seem to get enthused now.
