My '63 altered wheelbase, 440, 4-speed, Dana 60 with 4.10's. Thing was exhilerating and terrfiying at the same time to drive. It would spin all through first and lift the fronts in second.
My '66 I bought new before I got a drivers license that summer. Grandfather cosigned for the loan but after a discussion with the old man it was decreed no V8, he'll kill himself in it. So I got a 225 slant six and three speed. Immediately put a Hurst in it. Six months later bought the drivetrain and exhaust out of a wrecked '65 Barracuda Formula S, 273 cube, 273 horse, 4-speed and hid next to my buddies folks garage. When my parents went out of town one weekend we did the swap. The Formula S had a single exhaust outlet, big rectangle tailpipe which was fairly loud. A few days later the old man says "what the hell did you do to your car?" "I put gl***pack on it."
