I'm a huge fan of the original Dragnet. From 1951 through 1959, 276 episodes aired. Of those 276 episodes, only around 60 are available to be viewed. I was reading that the company that owns the original rolls doesn't see any value in converting them over to digital. Makes me sick to my stomach. I can't imagine a world without all of the original episodes of Gunsmoke in it. I personally think that people would get a kick out of the 1950s Dragnet in full if the episodes were converted over to digital. Is there a way to start a pe***ion or something that might get the ball rolling in my favor? A world with more Dragnet in it has to be a better place, right?
Dragnet for this 78 yr old rodder was one of my favorite shows growing up in the 50’s. Joe Friday always had a “quick answer to any problem that occurred.”
Seems like it was Tubi streaming network I was scrolling through the other night, and saw a listing for lost episodes of Dragnet. Made a mental note to go back and see what it was when I had time. BTW, Tubi has some great vintage black and white stuff, a lot of it actually. Might not be what you're looking for, but worth a shot maybe. That's my favorite streaming channel, and it's 100% free, with commercials. Well worth having, for HAMB minded folks. EDIT, I haven't looked at that link you posted, that may be the same thing.
I'll check that out. I'm finding that the older I get, the only two channels I leave my tv on are MeTV and TCM.
There's junk on Tubi, but also a ton of vintage stuff I've never seen before, a lot of which I think is great. Gave up cable a while back, and by then TCM was only included on a pay sports package. MeTV got me through a month of tough recovery after surgery s few years ago. It was the only thing I could stand to watch (before Tubi).
