This 1/18th has been on my shelf for 15-years and I discovered this damage today. There are a hundred others in the man cave with no damage, what could be causing this metal virus? Zinc Pest is the name of the problem.

A bad batch of pot metal. Something was wrong with the mix of metals that day.

Make a body shop garage diorama and take it in for repairs.

The hood looks like it was stepped on and straightened. Same with the door.

Pull a carfax on it and see how many wrecks it’s been in, judging from the looks of the trunk it has a bunch of bondo packed into it. :p

Looks like zinc deterioration from within the metal.

Stepped on by Godzilla somewhere along the line. Looks to be size 10-10/2. Loafer, probably brown. Most likely prompting some profanity, and a quick 360 scan....

  13. Probably used window screen and or old rags to fill the dents then bondo’ed over it.

A lot of the old promo cars of the 50’s and 60’s that were plastic are shrinking and warping too.

I bet @anthony myrick would still drive it! Don't have to worry as much about it now that it has some damage.

  15. As I see it you have 3 options:
    1. Find a parts car
    2. It's only metal, fix it
    3. Now that it's no longer mint, start driving it.

    ;)

Had a couple of Nascar diecasts that virtually disappeared in a few months... gradually turned to dust. I'm glad I never bought more than a few, every one I've had, suffered the same problem
