I have a few Auto related parts that I have as decoration in my house. A Mobile gas pump topper, made into a light, mounted on a block of cherry wood. An ECO Tireflator that I restored, and was too nice to have in my shop. And an old wood steering wheel mounted on a piece of wood, hanging on the wall. Also have a cabinet full of SW gauges and other misc. auto show memorabilia stuff. So now it's your turn to post up what you have in your HOUSE that is auto related. We allready know Moriarity will win. But lets see what everyone else has. Mobile Gas.jpg Eco Tireflator.jpg Steering Wheel.jpg Cabinet.jpg

WOW. I'm humbled by the above collections. I've had the same original deuce grille shell hanging in my office for almost 40 years. Wife says parts belong in the garage. I have my ba*****t garage/museum loaded with memorabilia from the last 50+ years. I've sold a lot of the pricey pats to other hoarders. .

All I have is a few pictures, a few wood engravings, and some stuff left from the 2nd car club I was a part of. Not a single car part occupying space in my house. Not many parts hanging on the wall in my garage either.

  9. I had a 1929 Model AA black radiator shell on my living room wall for nearly 30 years. It's no longer there. Now we're in a new house, with a 3-car garage. That radiator shell has found a new place: on the front of my Model AA in stall #3, with a radiator under it and a running, fully broken in 351W behind it. I like it where it is now but having that radiator shell on the wall for so long was an exercise in optimism that finally paid off.

I've been collecting 1949 (and some 50-51-52) Chevrolet dealer items forever.

"Pig" has her bed in the living room.

Only other parts are a few special parts for the Dragmaster project and a pair of 15x10 wire wheels in the spare bedroom.

This handmade sculpture found many, many years ago at the Rétromobile car show is the only automotive object my wife tolerates in our living room o_O upload_2025-12-2_8-30-3.jpeg

Looking around the L.R. beneath the TV
The old style orange enameled disc, GULF sign that was on the gas pumps.
A '30 Model A rad. shell, pair of '57 Chevy tail lamp housings with lenses.
Under a gl*** top on the sideboard of dining area is the cover from Car Craft mag July 1962.
Some Mooneyes Trinkets. A 6 inch ceramic 1954 Corvette, that once held booze, on the bookshelves.
On the wall behind my wife's easy chair are two wood plaques displaying advertising for Chevrolet 1915 and 1925..
A mid '30s German, toy red sport car made by Schuco, W/ working steering and gear box.
    Back to under the TV.
A "Good Guys" enameled plaque with a 'Speed Demon' in a wild 'A' Coupe shifter arm thru roof.
( yeah I gotta get a camera and the knowledge to post pics )
Last, mounted on lacquered wood blocks is Mid '20s T model winged Motometer, rad. cap.
( was nickeled,, worn down to br*** )
Thanks for asking. Didn't realize 'til I took a look.

I use the wraparound rear window from a 1961 Pontiac Catalina four door sedan as a coffee table.

Any car related items in the house is just stuff that hasn't sold yet.

I have used the space under my pool table to store freshly plated gems and the wood for the bed of her truck so it wouldn't warp. That's about the size of it. I have 8 garage bays, she thinks that is enough room for car stuff. I don't complain, she lets me stay inside as long as my clothes are clean.

OK. Looks like pictures and other stuff qualifies as car parts here.
    100_1223.JPG
Pic 1) Picture of the 2nd car club I was in. This was the Kroozers of Northern IL, around 2003. The coupe on left front was the club president, Bob, and the Chevy on the right was the vice president, Lenny. My wife and myself are the teal color 54 Dodge pickup on the left side, 2nd row.
Each year, the club selected the person they thought was the club member that was the Good Guy and gave him (or her) an award. The Good Guy (or Good Gal) received a plaque and their vehicles picture was on the clubs annual car show shirts and got the prominent parking space for the day. At the time, I was the club's monthly news letter publisher.
    Pic 2) 100_1209.JPG
Pic 3 the club car show shirt with my 54 Dodge pickup on it. 100_1217.JPG
The Crossmembers trophy on the left was from the '24 WI Hot Rod Long distance award. The "trophy" on the right is a piece of art my good friend Mark Schanfeidt presented to me one day in March of 2023, shortly after the truck was painted blue. 100_1219.JPG
Pic 3) Mark's art work deserves a closer look. The 5" long toy truck with opening doors is an early 50s Dodge painted to look like my 49 (same body except the grille, finding any of scale model of a Dodge truck from this era is very hard to find). The truck rotates on the top of the pedestal. The small sign under the truck is attached to the lid of the blue spray can.
    100_1220.JPG
The bottom line on the "sign" has Marks name and the March 2023 dating. That print is so small, I can't even get a good picture of it.
    100_1221.JPG
Moving on to other stuff. The trophy section! Yea, that is pretty much it! The big one is a 1st in cl*** from way back in '17 with the coupe and old paint, yea, the show day was a very rainy day, my car was the only car in the cl***. The two that pretty much look the same (one with orange and the one with the green) are from a Mopar Show, the first two years after the 49 was painted. they liked the old shiny blue truck.
The trophy on the left is from a car show at a church, also from "17 with the coupe. It was one of those "top 20" cl***es, the guy that picked it told me my coupe looked like it was the most fun of any of the other cars in the cl***. The other cars in the cl*** had the appearance of being trailered everywhere, my coupe was obviously driven. 100_1218.JPG
    100_1211.JPG
The other stuff occupies space in my computer room. These two pieces of wood burning art hang in the kitchen, right next to my wife's "Family" calendar. These two pieces were made by one of her niece's husband. The box above the wood burning is a front door chime from the time our house was built, back in 1954, that box is the only thing that remains of the system, removing it would create a big hole in the wall, so it still remains. 100_1228.JPG
My wife is kind of into wood burning right now. This one has yet to find a location to hang in, its currently waiting in our bedroom. This was done from a picture of my 49 and was part of my Christmas gift from last year. 100_1229.JPG
Last pic. This display case belongs to my wife. It also occupies a space in our bedroom (the bed room is huge) Our town started running a series of small diecast metal trucks that had the names of 20 historic businesses in our town. She missed the 1st truck, (they were prepaid and pre-ordered in very limited quan***y) but she got involved and has all the of other 19, they are all displayed in this gl*** case along with a bunch of her favorite TY Beanie Bears and TY Beanie Owls.

A bunch of stuff (there is probably more around here if I look for it...), but no actual auto parts.
