"This trick came from @bchrismer." I've heard Bret can be tricky, must be the Stache.

Take the fuel injection line off where it connects to the motor, put a long flexible hose on it, and stick it in whatever you want to fill and get your kid to turn the key to the on position and it will empty the rascal

Exactly. I tried to siphon the gas out of my daughter's totaled 2013 over the weekend and honestly considered poking a hole in the tank after being frustrated by that "rollover" valve that prevented me from reaching gas through the inlet... However, I decided I would be mad if I bought a car hit in the front for parts to find out that someone trashed the gas tank...

Thanks Larry! I'll keep that in mind, but think I am good now. :)

  5. Well, I now have some garage space and I can actually start putting my 82 Harley back together, all cosmetic stuff. So, the project going away was a sort of a win win situation.

Siphoning gas out of a wreck reminds me of Mad Mad soaking up gas and wringing it out into a helmet

Also, I guess I could mention that the car was approved to register for the Gathering at the Roc next year. Found that out Wednesday.

As far as the power valve goes, if I don’t see it by next weekend, I’ll see if my youngest son could pick up the one from @winduptoy on his way back from Phoenix.

Drive through historic downtown this evening with all the Christmas lights… :D Lots of folks in downtown this evening. That is likely because we have a local live theater that always does “A Territorial Christmas Carol” based on the ****ens story this time of year.

Got the power valves in the mail yesterday. I just need to put one in now. After looking at them, I should have just chucked one up in the lathe and had it about 3 weeks sooner…

Well, put the power valve in this evening and drove around town a bit. I suppose the test will be if it starts tomorrow without filling the bowl manually. :D

Woohoo! Went from around 8 hours to drain the bowl to starting right up at 20 hours at least now. Pretty sure that was most of the problem. :) Might as well head to Tractor Supply while it is running to go get some feed.

glad you got your economizer valve...yes, chucking it up in a lathe and clearing the radius is another approach...unless it has a leaky diaphragm....

No new news really other than just driving the car somewhat regularly. Drove it to work again today. Still have a list of stuff I need to do to the car, but have been sidetracked by cold weather and also trying to get my youngest sons car back together and off my lift.

Pic from running errands last night.

Man, that’s an artsy shot, perfect timing. Errands are a lot more fun when you can do them in a nice old car, huh?
