In case anyone needs to know, they shut up shop on 11/04/09 from what I heard. Im really hoping its just a rumor but I know two people who have tried to reach there and the numbers are disconnected. Anyone that can confirm? Bummer.
From their website dear friends, thank you for your loyal support over the years. we just could not hold on long enough to get thru this rough stretch of road. We are out of business effective 11/04/2009. someone will purchase some of the molds and continue to produce a few of the many products that we use to make. Who that is and when they will be available is unknown even to us at this time.
It's a shame, good products. In this area there are several business's that are closing the doors. The owners just don't want to shovel their retirement or savings into the business even if it's something they have worked a lifetime building. In my world I have had to cut back on the advertising in national mags and take a look at cutting back on some of the shows, sounds like defeating the purpose but I will survive on word of mouth and past refurrels. Business buyers are also a little scarce in this economy. Hope things turn around soon, but it doesn't look good.
I'm sorry to hear about this. I bought a tape showing how to make panels from them a few years ago and it's excellent. While the principles will work with anyones materials, it's sad to see a great business close.
Rod Doors is back in business! They are now located in Janesville, Wisconsin where they manufacture almost all of Blaine's original thermal formed ABS plastic interior panels plus some exciting new products are in development now. https://roddoors.com/
