History 3 Window Conversions - Documenting those that exist.

Yeah thats cool. Great concept that someone could build in the custom style.

I added a couple of inches to the nose to stop it looking too stubby.
Also the other main thing is stretching the rear fenders back to meet the back of the 'bustle', so they visually match the length of the fronts. I think Henry was trying to save metal, as the original rear wings are pretty sawn off looking.

 

These are very cool. Hopefully they will inspire some builds.

Someone in Australia was building an Anglia coupe, many years ago, I can't remember if it was a 3 or a 5 window... Cool concept.

 

Could be done relatively easy using a Simca/Fiat 500 roof.

 

There have been a few in the UK over the years, to varying degrees of success.

 

Heres a Austin A40 Somerset 4 door conversion in U.K. Wind all the windows down and it,s a 3 window.

 

Ha, yeah I know it well, that was inspired by one of my photoshop pics. Love that car.

 

Yeah, that ride is awesome. He knocked it out of the park for sure...

 

Found one more of these 3 window Mercs.

I really like the 1939 - 1940 Mercury customs converted into 3 window coupes. Same concept between them, yet they all have their own flavor!!! They are definitely very innovative and stylish, and I'd cruise all of them...
