    Hi All:

Does anyone have a PDF or would be willing to copy the 3 part series from Car Craft April, May, & June '54 (I think) written by Dean Moon showing how to convert the LZ V12 dizzy to V8? I have a unit that was 90% of the way converted and I need to rework the point plate. I'll have some time this winter to work on it.

    Thanks,

    Tim

    To the top. Anyone?

  3. I had a copy . . . can't seem to find it! Arggggggggh!

I do know that there were TWO typical ways to handle the mods necessary to get the spark to align with the terminals --> One was to made mods to the rotor (soldering on some thick br*** wire to extend the rotor tips), the other required a similar concept on the side caps. Are you looking for the side-cap mods?

Plate mods really, Dale. Between the "cores" I have, there are various parts that have had mods done to convert them. The one I have that is most complete, had the cam reground, side plates done, rotor tips added with copper, but no point plate strangely. I want to do the point plate mod and then send out the coil to Skip.

I have all three copies as well as another magazine that shows the mod in one article. I also have a few LZ distributors with which to do this mod.
