FB_IMG_1664895700263.jpeg IMG_3431.jpeg I had this 39 Fordor a few years ago. I had to sell it due to a job change and pay cut on the horizon. I sure do miss it. Really fun car, great driver. SBC stock drivetrain.

in the mountain towns around Nevada, They used to have city cleanups and would haul junkers off and dump them into ravines for free, my 33 was one that was pushed with a bulldozer, tore the doors off on the right side and ripped a gash in the quarter panel, I brought it home to use as parts donor, because I was working for a 33-34 collector. it sat around for about five years, and I repaired the body planning to build it as a 4 door sedan. Wife wanted a Divorce and it sat for ten more years, my kids were living with me until they matured and moved out, by then I had been planning to build something special and I cut it up, friends thought I made a big mistake, but I'm happy with it. six pics 005.jpg six pics 004 (640x512).jpg six pics 003 (640x512).jpg our pic`s 229.jpg our pic`s 012 (320x240).jpg six pics 002 (800x640).jpg Genoa_09_Picnic.jpg

I’ve been seeing your car on the hamb for years and have always liked it… I really dig when folks build something new that looks factory, and that definitely looks like something Ford could have made.

  9. Didn't actually want a 4 door but it was too good to p*** up. And if not for me and the guy I got it from this one would have been crushed ..... extremely rare factory power steering and all. Now it's going to make a nice daily driver if I ever get around to fixing the starter and replacing the windshield lol IMG_20250930_140701394.jpg

Growing up nobody wanted mom's 4 door to build from. The first new car I remember my parents buying was a 1955 Plymouth 2 door wagon. My high school car was yep you were almost right was a 59 Ford 4 door wagon. I guess by 1959 my dad figured we were smart enough not to open the back door while the ride was moving.........
I recently p***ed on a very nice chopped 32 because it was a 4 door not the Tudor I want.

You and me both Dan, I too dig something that looks factory, but in my case looks like something that Ford SHOULD have made! :) HRP

There was a time I turned my nose up at 4 doors but there are many 4 doors out there that look just as good as 2 doors, I would love to have that 4 door project in my garage. HRP

20251017_142330.jpg 20251116_103006.jpg picked up this 63 fairlane crew cab for my wife from my uncle, figure it makes sense having more doors with the child.. but I haven't figured out how to mount the car seat in the rear yet.

I wanted a 2 door Austin or Anglia, but this really solid rust free 4 door Austin popped up for sale in 2010.

So I built this from it.

I've converted a bunch of them, but there are a handful of models I actually prefer as a 4 door. My '54 Rambler is one, because the 4 door got an 8" longer wheelbase, and I think the proportions are much better than the shorter 2 door, even as a hardtop.

This is a "Country Club" 2 door hardtop. It's a '52 so the styling is a little different but this is basically what the 2 door hardtop version looks like. I don't hate it, I just like the longer wheelbase 4 door better. It's a common misconception that all 4 doors are bigger/longer, that's actually only the case on a small handful of models.
