Weismuller's wife at that time was Allene Scott. They were married in '39, divorced in '48, so that would put that picture in the timeframe of WWII. The demand for rubber for the war effort meant tires were in short supply for the folks in the states, even if you were a movie star.

 

No,,,the pic is from 1934.He married Lupe Velez in1933.

 

You are right in that it wasn't Allene Scott, but Lupe Velez looks nothing like the woman in the picture with Weismuller.
