Years ago I had my Ford 292 bored out to .020 over. Paid for new pistons, rings, etc. The project got put on the back burner. The other day I took the pistons to a machine shop as there was a wee bit of corrosion on them. They measured them and found that two were collapsed. These were never dropped by me and sat on a shelf for many years. Anyhow, I think they were not measured when I purchased them from the original machine shop.
New place searched and found that .020 over pistons would cost $480 CDN plus tax. I found a set on EBay that were made by Badger. Is/was Badger a good brand? The car will only be a cruiser so I don't need hi-po stuff.

I'd use them on a stock motor.

What is a collapsed piston? Badger pistons were pretty commonly used in rebuilds...so they're fine.

Machinists term as the lower part of the shirt was a lot narrower than the top. 3.770 on top and 3.6? on the lower area. Probably dropped.

Back in the mid 1980’s I ran a 73 Duster 340 in Stock Eliminator and when it was time to overbore it to 0.20 I went with a set of Badger Pistons, they worked fine in my drag race motor.

Ran forged Badger 11-1 pistons in my 327 and took it to 8000 RPM every time down the track. That was built in 82 and they still work in that engine today .

Odd the original machine shop never measured the pistons before boring your block.

Badger pistons were never considered high end but there cast pistons were fine for a basic rebuild and the forged were OK .
Ran them in a stock car as well.
