1/2 yr update; had a bit of a heart attack, so slow for a bit, but almost back from that now. Still collecting the pieces for frame build at the pace budget allows. Master cylinder is new but front shock are old... Rear coil overs will work with rear cross member but not site appropriate. Getting closer to full front and rear suspension sets. Even got a junky 289 to rebuild. A thanks to ‘ Tim' for prompting me to post. (hope I’m not being presumptuous). Yes in 340HilbornDuster ’s thread. That Injected Tub! WOW!, Driving Around! WOW!
Hey there he is! Two roached out A tubs being saved and built at home and the same blue paint and the same island views I was having dejavu!
Nov 2025 I am determined to do some on this car this year, so... With the long Thanksgiving week end before me I bought some new electrodes. Flat ground, light V grooving, and cap welded those front tapers w/7018. After that 8 foot of bead to get warmed up I was off an going. Spring Notch .... The Kink ... Tab 'D'into Slot 'C'... Rear Taper ... Horn By this point even the 6011 beads were looking pretty good. Still burned thru a couple of times. I guess if your not on the verge of burning thru your not welding. Stick Welding is Traditional as well as Manly. Perimeter Frame! So far so Good, Xs nice, V-measures nice, parallels money. Only 1/8 of twist which I think I can improve upon with the floor chains an jack. Has the Speedway prefabbed Rear Crossmember. So I've copied there design with the rear part parallel, also 106.5 long. White paint spots so blind old man can see his pencil marks. Progress! Next Year - Roller Now I got to carry er back under porch so wifey can get to laundry machine and maybe take a better glory picture to post.
Hi Bathtub Bradah. I guess carrying "Wifey's Laundry Machine" under the porch is out of the question huh...? ... It'll get exponentially heavier from here on. You're Hard Core Man! Hats off to ya! That 289 will easily double your power ... for a fraction of the cost. Keep Cranking, at your own pace, & Take Care of that Heart! Happy Holidays!
