    Good to hear, @HEMI32 !
My mail person would also always hand deliver, except the one time the cardboard didn't have DO NOT FOLD printed on it.

I just sent an email to see if I'm still on the list, confirming my address and updating my email. Crossing my fingers.

@19Eddy30 You keep asking about how distribution works. Here's a basic overview.
    https://movingacrosscountry.org/how-does-mail-move-across-the-country/
The thing is, as those numbers show distance is pretty far down the priority. It makes sense the closest would be first, but that's ONLY if it was all bundled in the same truck and driven. Even then, it would only work close to far if it kept making loops in ever increasing circles.

When you are shipping across the country or the world, they gather everything to a central point and it splits off in chunks from there. This is affected by the amount (size/weight) each day, weather, priority and probably a few more factors.
This link shows that the USPS is heavily automated.
    https://www.mailpro.org/post/how-does-mail-processing-work
It's designed to handle a huge amount of standard sized letters without human contact.
Now toss an oversize, overweight package in which is also not supposed to be damaged (paid extra). Yes, they have allowances for this, but each step of the way requires that these packages go through a different machine or the same machines with extra handling.

Nobody cares if the junk mail goes through this, but every customer does care if their TRJ gets jammed in here. And this is probably the end of the line at the local post office.

In the case of TRJ, or any m*** mailings, the items go to a mailing house that sorts by Zipcode prefix and bundles them that way before they are taken to the USPS. It simplifies things for the USPS but does not necessarily speed things up if those bundles lay somewhere before being sorted for the mail to be delivered. The big benefit is to the sender, they get a reduced rate for saving some work for the postal system.

If we ***ume that there are still 10,000 subscriptions, that's over five tons of product to ship if each package weighs a pound. I would guess that the printer/ binder/mailer are not in Maryland. Depending upon the USPS contract, the product might have certain presort requirements so different areas are shipped together to get a better rate. Still, from the printing start to the delivery, it HAS to cost over $10 to get an issue to your door/mailbox. That suggests the company has to come up with over $100K per mailing. That doesn't include production costs! I am impressed (and thankful) by the determination of the RJ staff. Thank you folks for your continuing effort.

From the postage tag on the package it looks like they were shipped from Burlingame CA on a bulk permit. Magazines with advertising are shipped at a different bulk rate than books with no advertising.
No indication of where they were printed that I can find quickly. The printing is great quality who ever did it. IMG_0881.JPG IMG_0882.JPG
