I remember when they were building that and waiting on the updated reports to come out in Scale Auto Enthusiast. I'd still like to see it in person one day.

I read that the entire model car museum was donated to the Speedy Bill museum. Last I knew this diorama was part of that exhibit.

The details are just nuts, huge skills and dedication, commitment to the extreme.

I did not know this, but looked at their website (the model museum) and sure enough. Hopefully this increases my chances of seeing it....and consolidating trips, since the Speed Museum is on my list as well.

I cannot find words to adequately describe that. All I can say is WoW! Hats off to all those involved.

That is one amazing collaboration of builders and the effort that was made to create this project. Funny thing after I got over the wow factor and started looking closely at the cars I was trying to see how many of Moriarity’s cars were in the mix. I think I saw two of them?!?:D:D:D

Yes, Mark Gustavson who ran the Model Car Museum in Salt Lake since its inception and also ramrodded the international Greater Salt Lake model car show/contest, just got too old to run the thing. Not wanting it to disappear when he retired, he sought a good new home for the exhibits so they would last. Hopefully this is the right choice. Sadly the GSL meet is gone for good.
