I think I'm done wheelin' and dealin' for a while ( maybe for good even!) After about half a dozen trades this past year I ended up with a 56 Caddy, which we thrashed on for about a month to get up and running for the Halloween hoe-down in Huntsville. While we were there my club-mate Jonathan told me he'd like to trade cars. He was driving his 51 Chevy that day and I thought that's what he meant. I finally figured out that he was talking about his '28 coupe. I first saw this car last February right after Jonathan 'finished' it and it really just blew my mind. You guys may or may not like it but I fell in love with it first time I saw it. He's driven this car to events all over the Southeast this year. It started out as a 29 sport, but it now has 'special' side windows and you can see the coupe back panel just clamped on for now. It's chopped 7" and sits on a frame Jonathan designed and built which features a suicide front on Posies quarter elliptical springs and the original 39 banjo rear and spring out back. The flathead is also a 39 with Navarro heads and a thickstun 2 pot intake. It still has the original 3 speed and enclosed driveshaft. I know some of you will like it and some won't, I dig it and just thought I'd share.
Thanks everyone. Yeah Shoebox, I've kind of come full circle - this is what I wanted the coupe you ended up with to be. I'll get some better pics of the suspension up shortly Richard. Sam, I'm not sure which truck you mean - I've done a bunch of trading this year. The bagged '46 is in Geogia with the OddRods and last I heard the little RPU I had was in Arkansas - HaHa! I still have a nice 31 cab I'm planning on building a truck with over the winter but that's it. You gotta come down again some time Sam - I just saw you and Rodster's car's in 'Garage' - congrats again on that!
I really really like it!!! PLEASE posts some more pics for the front suspension set-up!! I love how that sits!! What's the cowl steering box?
Wow what a heap!!!! Let me know if you want someone to take it off your hand's and I will be there for it buddy . very nice , I love it . Buzz Bomb
well damn....i liked that car ...i even got to drive it a few times herew a video of it doing a burnout....
I love it!! That chop and stance are perfect. I've been triying to decide wether to run spokes or wide fives on my tudor, and i think your coupe persuaded me toward wide fives.
Nice!! That was at the Drive Invasion in Atlanta right? The year before they put a stop to the burnouts. This year they were very cool about it.
