I had planned on Zing my frame 6" on my 31 Model A coupe to get the rear end down and better fill up the wheel well. I had already lowered the axel 4" and reversed the eyes and that was easy but when I went to hook up the steering and tie rod that was another matter. After a nights heating and bending I gave up and purchased 32 arms that bolt on different and was able to re-bend them to work. Also had to extend a bracket for the mechanical brakes on each side but it now all works . I got to looking at what had to be done after you z the frame 6" and I am not sure if I am going to proceed. The Zing is easy. ,just cut the frame and extend it upward the distance you want with a piece od 2x4 box tubing and weld. Keeping everything level and square. But here is the thing. You have to cut the sub rails on the body to go down over the new frame configuration. That is going to be a job to strengthen the sub rail behind the spring to hold the back of the body When that is done, it looks to me like the wish bones are going to hit the bottom of the frame and the brake rods are going to kit and not be long enough. If any HAMMER's out there could give me some advice on this I would appreciate it.
Measure how much clearance you currently have between the offending parts and the frame, and only zee a bit less than that.
I had to look because I wasn't sure what a zing frame was. You won't get the look your probably after without frame and or crossmember modifications. On mine I stepped the frame which still requires some subframe mods. But I also used a T spring with a reverse main leaf and removing some of the leafs. That alone will help some.
