I am looking for cool old pics of dealership signs painted on old brick buildings. Here's a few examples.
Chicago ghost signs. This one is a natural, Andy started his empire here. The home of Binks, air brushes, paint guns and compressors. And last but not least, I remember my Uncle Casey drinking Meister Brau, .35 a quart in the ‘50’s
The reason I ask is I would like to recreate one of these in my shop. I am getting ready to brick a wall that I can't just leave alone. I'm looking for something that screams old dealership or service station.
In the next few days, I will try to get some shots of a few in my neck of the woods. One of my former highly skilled co-workers produced images using a projector as a guide. Muralistic, not ghosted. Some of these are on concrete blocks or parched concrete.
We used to have lots of them here but since the infill has been going on downtown most are gone. I do know of a few I can go get some pictures for you tomorrow or the next day, plus it will give me a chance to put some more miles on my ‘51
