I am looking for cool old pics of dealership signs painted on old brick buildings.
    Here's a few examples.

I think they call them ghost signs.

I love ghost signs! Unfortunately, I don't have any to share right now.

The reason I ask is I would like to recreate one of these in my shop. I am getting ready to brick a wall that I can't just leave alone.

I'm looking for something that screams old dealership or service station.

In the next few days, I will try to get some shots of a few in my neck of the woods. One of my former highly skilled co-workers produced images using a projector as a guide. Muralistic, not ghosted.

Some of these are on concrete blocks or parched concrete. We used to have lots of them here but since the infill has been going on downtown most are gone. I do know of a few I can go get some pictures for you tomorrow or the next day, plus it will give me a chance to put some more miles on my ‘51;)

This one is in downtown Denver, and has been maintained well to preserve it since it was
    originally painted.

Wow, we used to have a Kaufmann's store on Warren Ave. in Detroit... I used to buy my model car kits from there in the early '70s.....

I took this photo about twenty years ago while I was working in Maryland. I had to check out the building when I was in that area again about five years ago. The vines had grown to cover more of the building, The lettering was faded, but the sign was still legible!
