Event Coverage Classifieds Change Up

  1. Let's face it, the bulk of us here know what we like. Just because a car is now 50 years old doesn't suddenly make it kool or easy to look at. Now if it comes down to a money thing to keep us online and alive I'd understand that. Maybe then it could become a total separate section to log into with the rest of our choices and not all be jammed together under one heading. Most of my Customers over the years that loved there 1973 Monte Carlo wouldn't walk across the shop and check out a Model A Roadster or a 40 Ford Coupe. I did make a lot of $$$ off them over the years. Add to that, the Corvett guys wouldn't hardly talk to the Monte Carlo guys either. The Drag Race guys were a breed unto themself. If I singled out just one of the 4 bunches, I would have had trouble buying groceries.

If it’s going to be raised, I say 72

Once the government mandated tougher smog controls, cars got pretty lame. If a change is order, I think ‘71 and older would be a logical choice. They still made a few decent factory hot rods in ‘71, after that was a joke. Just sayin….

With the 50mpg diesel engine! Heavens NO!

Reading through half the responses; "just say no to Malaise Era cars"!
Reading the other half; "don't change the cutoff year, 65 & down!"

I have made up my mind... I'm with you fellers :)

Not my decision but if there is going to be “off topic cl***ifieds” I would like to see the cars as a stand alone section not mixed in with parts and other items.

Just as long as there’s no Mustangs or Camaros.

72 was the last year of true bumper cars, to my knowledge. If we’re voting, and I know we’re not, that would be my choice.

If we are voting, I’m still good with the current cutoff. I sure don’t see it going past 72 if it is raised. But, also not my decision. I’m just thankful for this place.

How about a rolling 30 year rule? Worked out great for NSRA…..

If we're voting, 65 and earlier is good for me,

I would like to see it stay pre-65 and true to the HAMB original intent.

Could you create 2 headings? 1 for collectibles and other antiques. 1 for OT cars and parts. Otherwise, there's a lot of stuff to sift through.
