Nice color! I have one I got at a recent model show, no box, complete for $10.

I was selling a Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland resin Carson top for it.. which I'm now holding onto.

Yes I built it a few years ago. Many hours into it. Paint is enamel One Shot, custom mixed, with pearl powder added.

 

One of those model builds if positioned right could be mistaken for real lol

 

AMT’s first 3 in 1boat kit. This is a reissue of that kit. Enamel paint done over about 3 months period, attempting to replicate the look of the Chris Craft wood look.

hello my name is mike. was wondering if anyone on this site is doing LSM one eight size. I would like to correspond with you. I am currently building a 41 Willys pu g***er style. replicating Eddie sanzos Willys pu from the 60s. I'm trying to do a full east coast g***er tribute of as many g***ers from that time period.

 

Wrapping up this 62 Vette with a 63 front clip. New to the airbrush game, so practicing a fade on the body and roof. Not too difficult but I spent a lot of time on the cowl area, and blending the 62 coves into the 63 body line.

 

I just love model cars............as long as somebody else does the building!

 

I was pretty good at gluing two fingers together !

This has been a really interesting thread, especially admiring some of the obvious talent !

Personally, started building kits in 1952. Every Christmas would bring a kit (couldn't afford many other than Christmas) and the kit was at least 40 hours of pleasure. Mostly my folks bought kits of planes or ships rather than cars for me.

Got into slot cars about 1966, which curtailed my kit building.

About 1975, started collecting kit boxes (with unbuilt kits inside) of the Pontiac GTO. Unhappily now disposing of this collection.

The pills help the tremor, but still shake way too much to build kits today.

Hands still steady enough, but vision problems (despite cataract surgery) keep my detail work basic. Mostly doing alternate versions of kits I've built literally dozens of ('49 Ford, '53 F-100, '56 Victoria, '63 Galaxie, etc). Can't do anything resembling what I built in my prime. Just trying to keep a hand in.

 

Yes. The deterioration of vision has mostly stopped me from model building thes last few years. I was still able until 75years, but not anymore due to macular degeneration. Before, I was aided by having a closeup gl***es prescription. ****s getting old.

 

I'm considering cataract-lasik surgery for my vision improvement.

They can tailor the surgery to make it good for closer type hobby work. I'd have to discuss it with the doctor up front.

New gl***es alone + a magnifier would be a big help.

 

My "new" model area is taking shape. I decided to cede my dining room table back to the house. I'm back in my finished ba*****t once again.

 

here is a kit for a vehicle that I am pretty sure was never built. Pretty sure no civilian cars, even Willys were built in 1943.

 

Wartime restrictions were on civilian purchases; the government still needed light vehicles. They were able to build continuations of 1941 models through 1945.

 

I have bad eyes too. Get you one of these… multiple levels of magnification and a light…
