Rayson and Main Street, Northville Michigan. While the building had been changed over the years, overhang removed and two garage bays added, it stood until about two years ago, last being used as a pizzeria.

 

Grand River and Novi Road, Novi Michigan. Long since demolished.

 

Page 86 I posted two photos of the gravel train (as they are called up here) that ran into my uncle’s gas station in 1953. This building was also at the same site, Novi Road and Grand River, Novi Michigan as VerDuyn’s station in the post I made just before this one. So this was building #2 on this site.

This demolished station was replaced and remained a gas station until the mid 60’s when it was closed and spent the next fifteen or so years as a storage building for the Standard Oil station that was just to the west of it.

With support from the local government, he developed a camp for other families coming to California to escape the Dustbowl and economic collapse in the prairie states.

I vaguely remember seeing the Teaselville General Store when my dad and mom took us down to the coast to see his family. Found this on TexasEscapes. This is what it looked like in 2007.
