this is a cool thread to show how much actual work and time it takes to get a truck like this turn key and driving down the road...

  2. No truck updates. I just bought my first house and am in the process of relocating my stuff as I type this.

The '56 will be loaded up and hauled to the new spot this Saturday (in that black triple axle enclosed trailer above).

It'll be a little bit before I can get back on the F-100, since I have some house stuff to do, but I think progress will start to move forward at a more rapid pace once I get back on it.

    Thanks for checking in!

  3. Thanks, yes, it's a long drawn out process, but eventually it'll pay off. I wish I wasn't so indecisive and such a procrastinator, but the two go hand in hand.

I totally get it. I have been building my own house for the last year. It ****s being a one man contractor. I’m looking forward to getting back on the shop stuff though…

  5. Here's some pics of the house I bought. It's a 1965 Mid Century Ranch 3/2/2 with a wrap around driveway and an additional 400sqft outbuilding that I'll be renovating into a more suitable workshop.

I bought the house from the original owners, and it's been well kept, however, it needs some modernizing and some tidying up.

I had fun updating myself with your thread. I had forgotten about it somehow. I love binge watching so it was a fun evening. I want to congratulate you on your home ownership. This is not a right; it is a hard-earned privilege!

  8. Thanks Billy, more updates will come soon once the dust has settled at the new place.

One of the perks of this relocation is that it's in my hometown, and all of my buddies from high school are still into hot rods and race cars, so they'll surely stay on my *** to stop procrastinating and overthinking. '

  9. Not a truck update, but just an update....

I'm still alive, but with this recent home purchase 200 miles away, still unpacking and organizing house and garage stuff, and tackling little projects around the place, truck maintenance, etc, etc, etc. I've just been swamped.

October 31st I quit my professional career, took 2 weeks off to move the last of my stuff, and then started working at a hot rod shop, so I dont sit at a desk anymore, and can't mess around on the HAMB like I used to, lol.

So glad I made this drastic change in my life because I've quickly realized that I don't have the stress and anxiety I did at my last job and dealing with the people of Austin.

Here's a few pics of some of what I've been tinkering with at the new gig...

1953 International Pickup with a Coyote/TH400, built as a burnout truck by a shop in Houston. I installed an electric air conditioner system, rewired much of the truck, and built an air ride system to work with the previously built ch***is/suspension.

This '56 F100 belongs to a friend and was in the shop for a new fuel system and some exhaust work.

My home garage is still a mess, but I'm chipping away at organizing and getting things in place. Gotta tear down the back wall storage for some more space, do some wiring/lighting, and paint the walls and this garage will be done and I can get back to my '56.

  15. Update:

The '56 hasn't seen the light of day since I relocated in Oct/Nov.

Busy working on the house, holidays, travel, etc. So there it sits, patiently waiting its turn.

Of course, my A.D.D. kicks in and I decide I want another project, so two buddies and I make a decision on a Wednesday to make a 3000 mile road trip to Los Angeles to pick up a Model A Roadster I found on FB Marketplace.

We left Corpus Christi area on Thursday around 9:30pm, rotated drivers, had lunch in Tuscon, and made it to LA by 8pm Friday night. Hit up some LA spots on Saturday morning, picked up the Model A, and rapidly walked around GNRS before we had to hit the road. Left LA at 7pm, rotated drivers, had lunch in Fort Stockton, and made it home by 6:30pm Sunday.

I've gutted the 16' wide, 54" tall, 48" deep cabinets that were on the back wall of the garage, and currently trying to organize my stuff to make room for both vehicles inside.

Anyway, this roadster is just something to tinker with for a bit, then sell, and get back to the F100 build
