Hello to All - So I had one last 427 Ford SO- MR Heads and a 4-speed top loader from an old 66 Fairlane that was street raced in the 70's down in So-Cal. I was going to find another Cobra but this came along.
It is an old project that needed reviving. So-Cal #489 Ch***is, Aluminum Super Bell, Aluminum Currie Axel with parallel 4-link, topped off by a Rod Bods steel body. I have never had a street rod. My intention is to build a traditional style Highboy as would have been done in late 60's to early 70's. I have never seen one with a Ford 427, what do you think?
Bill... go for it! That'll be a rocketship! There's an orange '32 5W with a 427SO in Austin, TX... and he's on here. I'll have to dig up his handle @Skotz. And, I'm not sure if his is a 427SO or not, but there's another guy running around with a blown FE in a '32 5W that's all bare metal. I do not know his handle or if he's on here. His is definitely a rocketship! I just picked up a 427SO & LR heads, but I'm planning on putting it in a '64 Comet. 3blap.
Not sure of his handle here but Jason holland runs a BIG fe in his A coupe. I think he started with a tri power 427 before he went bigger and with a blower. If you are on SoCal media #hotrodsofomaha should find him. Bare metal, spindle mounts and all the angry. I want to say he was getting into the high 9’s in the quarter before he ditched the traverse spring in the rear. No idea how fast it is now but he puts a **** ton of miles on it.
