Once again, this year was a great show. here are some pics I took with the digital, when my film shots come back, I'll post them.
More of the baby blue 32, I love the details on this car. All of the finned parts were done on an early 30's South Bend by the owner and his father.
The real deal Stone Woods and Cook willys g***er Check out the RARE Crestline wheel on the 32 5 window!
This Merc was amazing! An almost Mantranga clone, but with super straight black paint, and a 49-51 lincoln wheel. The green shoebox has been around since the early 60's, and was a cover car on rod and custom if I remember correctly.
The Road Agents club car was really cool The 32 3 window is a survivor that raced back in the early-mid 50's, complete with original photo coverage. The real deal!
oh, a little self promotion, and Scarylarry's awesome 32 roadster, etc Lots more to come, many of the outdoor cars, when the film comes back!
DAMN!!! I'm gonna' go wake my wife up and beat her!!!! She has been out of work for a while and I have been working overtime to "fill in the gaps." Last weekend, I worked 10 shifts and missed an awesome Halloween party. Now this weekend, I work 8 hours shifts and then go pick her up returning from a trip to her Grandmother's (Grandmother p***ed away ) She's killin' my social life!! Looks like the show was great. It's small but has great "patina." Larry, the roadster is beautifully "understated." As I once had a photographer comment on my old car, "It is elegant in it's simplicity."
Thanks for posting the pics Chad! This is the show I picked to go to over the Pumpkin Run, and although the Pumpkin Run had around 2,000 cars, you would be hard pressed to find as many quality cars that the Jalopy Rama has. Mike Szuba puts on a very nice show that has a great feel to it. I'll take quality over quan***y any day. Just seeing the Stone Woods And Cook car almost finished was worth it alone. That same car was only in primer and a roller exactly one year ago when I saw it. Other highlights for me included seeing alot of friends that I only get to see a few times a year like Luke Karosi from Kustoms Illustrated, Jay Fitzhugh from Rodders Journal, and a special appearance from Doug Dorr all the way from Cali. I've done the Pumpkin Run for three years in a row and it got to be the same old thing, I'm happy with the Jalopy Rama and how it turned out. It's too bad there is so much happening on that same day! Spike
Nice photos Chad. Thanks Pat. I want to letter the car and cant bring myself to do it yet. I'm scared it will screw up what is kinda working for me now.
thanks for posting the pics Chad. I had to miss it this year. My grandmother's funeral was that day. I'll meet up with ya one of these days.
I have ben waiting for these. Thanks for posting. Don't feel bad SkateFink, my wife just got out of the hospital and I have to play driver for her so my saturday was shot. All I could picture was cruising down in my 62 GP enjoying the day. All I got was to be errand boy. Oh well. Larry
Damn, does anyone have the address? I wanna see how far it is so I can plan the trip next year! How much is it to get your car on the floor?
The address is 14 Dorsey Rd. Glen Burnie, MD 21061 It doesnt cost anything to have your car in the indoor show, but you have to be invited to do so by Mike Szuba who runs the show. Outdoor parking is $8 I believe. check out www.jalopyrama.com I should have the 2 rolls of film I took of the outdoor, and more inoor cars tomorrow, and I'll get some scanning and posting donee.
Here's a couple more: The yellow and red Ford is owned by a guy who lives 2 blocks from me. He used to race it in the 50's around Maryland.
TOE & Chad S, thanks for posting. Anyone get a pic of the mildly customized '48 Ford ragtop parked outside on the gr***? My wife told me I could build one like that for her. If that's not a green light, I don't know what is!
There's a yellow 58 GM in the back of this pic. Is it a Pontiac or a Chevy? If it's a Pontiac does anyone have a picture?
I didnt take any pics at that show, but Im sure I have some pics of the car on my computer at home. That is Mike Szubas car, he's the guy who runs the Jalopyrama.
Im sure I do have more pics of the 5W. That car was really nice. Ive been so busy, I havnt had a chance to pick up the film, but its coming, I took about 50 pics with the film camera.
