Featured Art & Inspiration Some thoughts on the coming year

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by chryslerfan55, Dec 14, 2025.

  1. I never make new years resolutions, but every year I have a thousand things I want to do in the upcoming year. What always happens is that I take on way to many transport customers & the next thing I know winter is here again & I am thinking about next year!

This year (I hope) will be different for many reasons : I have a feeling we will be going to a lot more cruises & shows , because I bought Laura one of her own, (57 T-Bird she loves them) it is hiding in the trailer until Christmas morning so NO pictures yet.

Finish up the Grand Prix, it is so close & missed by one nice day driving it over to the license/***le place for the out of state inspection & get my ***le. I painted it 5 years ago & have only driven it around the block a couple of times since.

Fix the couple of gremlins in the Nash, in fact thinking about converting it to 12 volt this year, I have not driven it in two years.

Several off topics (by a couple years) to work on as well.

God Bless & Merry Christmas to my fellow car crazies on the best forum on the internet!

I'm gonna drive my sedan in 2026.
At least to the Triple Crown in Nashville and depending on work, Gathering at the Roc.

No need for resolutions this year...I've already quit drinking and quit smoking...but I suppose I could work on the ****ing swearing.

Happy and healthy holiday wishes from Bonnie and I for all my fellow HAMBers and their families.

I plan to start drawing again. I recently got my 48 year old Prismacolor colored pencils, my wood drafting board I stole from high school and all my other drawing junk out from the vintage trunk they have been hiding in for 28+ years.
all I've done so far is colored in a copy of my 49ratfink avatar and a 55 Chevy in the same style. the plan is to do more realistic car art.

Before anything else happens I need to get this new knee straightened out. Been 6 months and I'm still fighting it. In the hot rod line I hope to have the stretched interior roadster done by early June to drive the 3600 mile round trip to the LARS with Dennis. Then down to the ROC. Everything depends on my health, turn 81 in April.

@41 GMC K-18 - Glad to hear that you got out of the storage locker trap. @tim troutman was talking with me a while back about how folks dump money into storage every year. If the rent was ''only'' $250 a month, the stuff inside better be worth the $3000 annual cost!

  8. Go sit on an innertube and bounce around, if you don't know what an innertube is, ask your elders. 2026 will keep you in a fix, working on old cars and trying to get off your creeper. HAHAHAHAH!!!

Hope to make it to some of the vintage drag races and make some good progress on my 37 Pontiac g***er project.

A guy I worked with that owned some large and successful oil and gas industry companies also owned several storage facilities. He referred to the storage facilities as a money printing operation. People would put their often worthless possessions in a storage unit, forget about them there and just pay the monthly fee. Low upkeep and continuous revenue.

Putting some miles on my junk, getting my shop better organized, selling parts I'm not going to use, and continuing putting my pile of parts on my A until it looks like a RPU and has a good stance.

Good health is high on my list, with that we can enjoy our hot rods and traveling the highways and back roads.

I wish the same for my Hamb family. HRP
