It is being reported that Greg Biffle, his wife Christina and two children Ema and Ryder all perished this morning after takeoff from a Statesville, NC airport. Greg was a Vancouver, WA local and many of us knew him and followed his NASCAR career. A horrible accident and loss of a lovely family.
Such a sad event and beyond my ability to understand it. I'm having difficulty writing this response. My condolences to his family, friends and many fans.
Very sad indeed. Condolences to family and friends. One more reason for me to keep my 4 tires on the ground.
It is beyond sad... He did a lot of relief efforts for the flood victims back east flying his helicopter into remote areas bringing supplies....
After all of the incredible help he gave freely to the residents of North Carolina after the devastating hurricane and now this. It's beyond heart-breaking. So very sad.
A humanitarian and a great loss. I feel so sorry for the kids, young lives cut short. Races that had just begun.
So Very Sad, Met him once many years ago through another racer, a really nice guy. His generosity was definitely apparent when he flew his chopper something like 50 trips in & out of the North Carolina Mountains after the hurricane. I've been having trouble digesting the news since I heard late this morning. A terrible tragedy, and two youngsters that didn't even get a chance to make their mark on the world.
A true humanitarian. When so many that could have helped after the hurricane didn’t, he was there, selflessly contributing all he could for his fellow Americans in need. Tragic ending for a good man and his family.
RIP TO ALL , Yes seen with in 30 mints of crash on Tv , as soon as seen from Islands then to Fla, I thought of Biffel plain , I knew the freedom factory race , this week @ McFarland's , Christmas Tree Race., They have become close in the last few years.
What a terrible terrible accident. Truly a cl*** act....a real person.....not the robotic marketing kids that seem to be emerging in many forms of motorsport today. RIP
I know Greg was a man of faith and was involved in a occupation that afforded him the ability to help individuals long before the floods in North Carolina, the tragic cir***stances that took the lives of Greg, his devoted wife and both children is heart breaking. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the fans and friends of the Biffles. HRP
Greg had the rare ability to build a car, tune it and drive it to a high level in compe***ion, that is one of the reasons Jack Roush picked him up, shortly after one of the Winter Heat races at Tuscon. When he got to the big time he didn't disappoint. I never met him, but I know several of his close friends, and he never forgot them. Loosing him and his family will leave huge hole in the hearts of many, condolences to all who knew and loved him. RIP Mr. Biffle.
Sad news about some nice people. From some sources they had taken off and there was an issue with the plan and he circled around to land and the crash path showed that they didn't make it to the runway.
From one of the most popular newspapers in Sweden. Icon dead with his family in plane crash "We are devastated" https://www.expressen.se/sport/motor/nascar-ikon-har-omkommit-i-flygkrasch/
Greg was a HAMBer… I didn’t know him well, but he bought an intake off of me a few years ago. This story is heartbreaking.
