Hi, new here and thanks to all who let me join. I have a 63 Bird missing the flat metal bars that come obliquely off the front crossmember to captive nuts on the floorpan. Most Bullet birds I see on line have them still attached however on the 64 models many dont have and dont have the mounting lugs on the crossmember either. Im based in Ireland so parts here mighty hard to find and well expensive to get shipped across the pond. I was told these were used in shipping the cars from the factory but dont know. Any info greatly appreciated.
If you don’t get any answers, and if a 66 t bird would be relevant message me. I’ll be with one next weekend and I can check
Thanks guys for elucidating. Your right they re just crude pieces or flat mild steel plate, drilled and slotted, one having an angle mid way. Problem is, there was a new ss exhaust made in England for it and I think these may have been removed to accommodate the downpipes ! If so , the pipes will need to be moded to clear these. Primarily the reason why Im wondering how important they are as many of the 64 and up cars running around dont have them fitted.
