Finished the rear taillights and spreader bar and redid wiring. Car now has license plate light and I eliminated about six foot of unnecessary wire. I have found some weird stuff on this car. IMG_9292.jpeg IMG_9294.jpeg

Took the grill shell and inert off the car today. The insert had some surface rust. When taking it apart I discovered that the insert was installed in the shell with sheet metal screws and then black rubber caulk was on the back to hold them in. I have never seen such lousy work.
All finished sanding the insert and painting. Also cleaned and touched up the shell. Insert installed the way it should be. Ready to go back on tomorrow. IMG_9313.jpeg IMG_9314.jpeg IMG_9315.jpeg IMG_9316.jpeg

Finished the windshield wiper this morning. There was a motor just flopping around in header panel. Now mounted properly and wired. Chopped the arm and blade.
Started working on front suspension the rest of the day. IMG_9319.jpeg

Finished going over the front end today. Spring, shackles, front brakes and wheel bearings all serviced. Front brakes actually looked great just needed some lube at friction points. IMG_9322.jpeg IMG_9325.jpeg

I have been working on the coupe regularly. Making things better and pretty much have completed most of what I wanted.
Installed the newly painted (Gloss Black) garnish moldings and dashboard. They came out great and interior looks so much better. IMG_9419.jpeg IMG_9421.jpeg IMG_9422.jpeg IMG_9423.jpeg

Just need to paint frame rails and should be ready to roll. Probably won't do that until early spring. Roads are a winter mess! :( IMG_9424.jpeg

Beautiful 5W and great attention to all the details. Beautiful interior and finish. Switch is for the dome light.

Well finally got most of this project finished. Took it out today for the first time. Flathead runs strong and car is pretty quick.
Still need to have frame rails painted .
Only issue is one head bolt is weeping coolant. Will go after that this week. IMG_9638.jpeg IMG_9641.jpeg

Thanks Danny, I did not completely build this car although I pretty much have gone over most of it and not finished yet. Best to Brenda!

Great car and wonderful work as usual.

Side note: It’s funny how we all gripe a little about previous owners work on these +80 year old cars, but the real benefit of these nits (as I call them) is that they make us go over every square inch of our “new to me” gems. A weird pride comes in finding/fixing all these little nits and it gives us something to do (especially through the winters) :):).

If we are lucky, and if it’s hidden somewhere, we find the one scary **** job that could have caused a major incident out on the road. Even better if we do a thorough job and find nothing, but how often does that ever happen?:eek:

@ct1932ford high praise on making it your own this time around again...truly a stunning Hotrod...Night and day from page 1s revival. Truly a different period. You have really found that sweet spot after owning so many of them...still picking my jaw up off the floor...;)
