Saw quite a few cars I remember seeing from my youth. The Casper Y out of Ed Wynn’s garage, Riska’s Yellow X, Sharkey’s 44, and others. Thanks for the memories…

  4. This is the crash that ended Bill Wimble's racing career at Lebanon Valley in 1968.

He was hit so hard it stopped his watch! He owned it until his death I believe this wife gave it to one of the Northeast racing museums.

'smokes. wonder he made it through that one. quite a difference in the before 7 after shots.

lots of surfers used he****s to haul their gear in the 1960s. would have been in poor taste if pit crews did the same.

Years ago, there was an article in Stock Car Racing about Schneider, who was quoted by Dr. **** saying that at that time you could get good used he****s for next to nothing, body in good shape, low mileage. There was room for all the tools and equipment that was needed AND room for the whole crew…

  11. The same reason firetrucks were popular (if you could find one) for ramp trucks low miles, no rust/rot and they usually were set up for a P.T.O to run a winch.

It's not vintage as it was built about 20 years ago by @SamIyam to look vintage trailer style. Sorry I can't recall much detail about the trailer construction. Behind my old 37 Chevy truck, which had a 2-inch receiver that was set into some 3-inch tube and then welded onto the rear frame rails. I've posted this picture previously over the years here, towing the BFD.

Dave Turene's #07 out of Mahopac, N.Y., Ron Narducci's #98 from Connecticut, and the Ernie Gahan-driven, Koszela "Lumberjack Special" #15 from Rhode Island, pictured at the Onteora Speedway in Olivebridge, N.Y. in 1960. (Bob Farlee photo. Joe Cryan collection).

Note the right side of the photo- Women were not allowed in the pits in this era. Was this before or after the races? Was she a car owner? (Car owners no matter their *** were allowed in the pits) Or involved in the track?
