In the 60s, I took the engine out of my Big T and put it in my 1/8" scale XKE Coupe.

Wow, Dan; that deuce took me back to finding the first "big" issue of R&C at the drugstore. Funny what memories a picture can trigger. Thank You.

Had to take inventory and forgot how many 1/8 models I have.
Not counting the built ones which are 4 more.

The Revell '57 chevy kit is 1/12 scale... I have a couple of those including the '67 427 Vette kits and a few of the '69 "F" body cars...

Often untold is that Roger Harney, an entry level Monogram employee from 1958 until he p***ed away unexpectedly in January of 2013 as VP of Manufacturing, played a key role in the original design and content of the Big T kit. That not only includes the kit itself, but the selection of 1/1 scale components to be replicated in scale, sand the overall layout of this model, which was intended to be, and largely was, a scale replica of what could have been (and later on, eventually was) a 1/1 scale T-Bucket. Until the day he p***ed, Roger was a stickler for authenticity in the hot rod and custom kits Monogram (and later on, Revell) brought to the market for over six decades..... Tim Boyd

Dang @HOTRODPRIMER ! The creature from the black lagoon on the magazine cover on the first shelf, man o man did that thing give me nightmares for awhile !!

I will still every once and a great while dig it up on a streaming service and watch it again.

I even went out as a pup and bought the glow in the dark model of him, then I had to get the rest of the glow in the dark monster models to build to go with all my ***embled model cars. Always thought it would have been cool and never figured out why they never built any car models with glow in the dark pieces. I thought it'd be cool if they just did the headlights if nothing else.

I guess it'd been real cool if they did a golden Sahara model with glow in the dark tires...

I have a built big T. I was a teenager and a local model shop acquired one. He thought "I wonder who would buy this?" and offered it to me. It wasn't expensive. He normally dealt with RC aeroplanes.
