I posted this first pic a while ago. 1936 Ford Model CX (small English four cylinder). Not mine. It's had the body chopped off, unfortunately. I thought the body wasn't too bad, had potential.

Lived in my house for at least 15 years, discovered this around the corner at an abandoned house I've drivin by a million times tonight.

The tax ***essor will know who owns it. If the county has taken over ownership for non-payment of taxes, just go get it.

 

They had a game about this. Called grand theft auto. I don't think that is good advice.

First thing would be to check with the county to see who owns the property then contact them. They might be happy to say get it out of there, or ask for enough to buy a box of beer. Or, the alternative... No way, I'm saving it for my grandson, haha.

Go get it is probably not good advice in a lot of places. I just checked local ordinances and found that once foreclosure is complete, anything left behind is considered abandoned and is subject to removal. The previous owner can pe***ion the borough (county) for permission to remove personal property.

Abandoned vehicles in Alaska can be re***led by putting up a bond of (if I remember correctly) 10% of estimated value. If someone else comes forward and proves ownership of the vehicle within 2 years you forfeit the bond and the vehicle. If not the ***le becomes valid and the vehicle is yours. Plus, I think you get the bond back.

If that old Chevy has been sitting there on abandoned property 15 years there's a pretty good chance nobody will come along to claim it.
