OCD kicked in again. Moving the hinge forward just a bit should improve alignment enough. I decided it wasn’t good enough so here I go again. Front door frame fabrication X (I’ve lost count).

My door hinges don’t have the best gaps either. My driver side is probably the worst side, but my “doors” were just the putter skin. I ended up going with some cheap speedway ones. I also don’t have any weather stripping or anything around my doors lol IMG_2964.jpeg IMG_2966.jpeg

  3. Remember guys - we're NOT building Boyd Coddington trailer queens... Keep up the GREAT work on not-so-easy to build, early Chevrolets as we know it!!

Anyone know if this individual is still selling parts? The website is shut down.. I guess I could resort to calling but I would rather drive two states away than call.:oops:

I have contact info for a guy in KY who deals in old Chevy parts. He’s legit.
I’ll send you his contact info by email. I promised not to publicly list his phone number.

I have not quit. Just took a break to spend time with my other hobbies. Weather here was lousy so it seemed best to stay out of the shop for a little bit. I’ll be back in the shop on January. Merry Christmas.

During our visit to the Florida Keys, we stopped at Florida state park Bahia Honda. There’s a 1912 Flagler railroad bridge that was damaged in a hurricane and has not been used since the late 1930s. Before that hurricane, Chevrolet apparently promoted their knee action suspension with a film reel. I took a pic of the placard showing how they drove a sedan on the railroad. I guess the knee action could take the bumps from the railroad ties.

There is a 1935 Chevy truck for sale near me here in South Carolina. Just a frame, cab with doors and front fenders. They want $3000.

A couple of yeas ago I let a nice complete '34 pickup get away. It belonged to a friend who died and he had told his family I could have it. just couldn't get there in the time frame.

My good friend here in Columbia, SC has THREE 1934 Chevy trucks, all with ***les. He bought the first one (a 1.5 ton) 26 months ago because of me. I saw it on FB marketplace but had no room for it. Then about 8 months later, he bought a 1/2 ton 34 out of NC that had the body and frame nearly done with all new wood. Just needed to finish up the drive train (which has been a great challenge). Then I told him about ANOTHER 1/2 ton 34 in NC that was a driver that needed repairs. So he now has 3 and I’m responsible for 2 of the three. I’ll post pics of these trucks when I get a chance. Here’s the 1.5 ton.
