I have a 47 Ford sedan with a 305/TH400 currently in place. The 305 is using oil and I have a 327 to replace it. I also have a 2004R available because I would like the OD. I was wondering if I would run into any clearance problems trying to put the 2004R into the stock frame and tunnel.

    I've put them in; '59 El Camino behind a 305 V8, '53 Chevy pickup behind a 235 six, '40 Plymouth behind a 331 hemi. I'd make it fit!

If the TH400 fits, the 200s4R will fit except you have to move the rear mount pad back a little.

The 200-4R is virtually the same size as a TH350. It will definitely fit where the TH400 lives now.

Only thing that will need to change is the driveshaft yoke. Mount will bolt right in the same spot

That will depend on which tailshaft housing is on the current TH400. Might need a new longer driveshaft.

Son had a wild 455 and TH400 in his 55 Olds daily driver. After killing 2 TH400's he had Art Carr build him a TH200-4R to suit the engine. The only problems were swapping the gearbox slip yoke on the driveshafr and sorting out the TV cable. His TH400 was running the short extension housing as shown in @twenty8 post above.
