Any oil filter experts out there?
So I got a deal on a set of Red's headers that a guy had for a few years. I have a Snyders oil filter set up but when I trial fitted things there's interference between the filter and the header. In addition it's pretty apparent the header would need to be removed to change the filter.
The recommended filter is a Motorsport FL-1A, or Wix 51515, [I think].
What I need is a shorter filter.
I still have the splash system.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

I personally think an oil filter on a stock Model A is a waste of time, if you put an oil pressure gauge on a stock Model A it has around has about 6-8 psi. I've had several Model A's and change the oil after about 500 miles and have never had any problems.

My header for Model B.jpg It looked like my (unknown model) Red's header might interfere with my Model B fuel pump.
Answered my own question - I have a Model B Red's header (luck of the swap meet)

My oil filter mount is part of my side cover and the filter points down: advert 9.jpg

Small block Mopar short filter is same thread and gasket. Think 60's 70's etc. Sorry don't have number off the top of my head. We ran 51515 on Mopars when space allowed most of the time.

Try a FL300A. Sumpin like early 90’s Taurus/Tempo had a little stubby filter with same thread size

Snyders sell this; [for $189] a right angle adaptor so the filter points down.
But I think for $7-8 I'll try the shorter filter. Given the cost of the engine, I'll probably be changing the oil like there's no filter anyway.
I'll see what it looks like when the short filter comes it.
