"cool" pic. We havent had any of that white stuff this year. In fact we haven't been below 30 at all yet this winter. You know it is winter here because the rain is cooler than it was during summer. Some people don't like rain but there are some benefits, I don't own and I have never actually seen a snow blower other than in the movies. I also don't own tire chains or studded tires. Windshield wipers don't last long though in these parts.

 

I hate seeing a hot rod out in that kind of weather. It looks so out of place. It's like going to see The Rolling Stones in concert and seeing Mick Jagger playing a guitar.

I love seeing cars being used. Back in the day they were generally the guys only car and they were driven rain or shine. Bundled up in a heavy jacket while defogging the windshield with very cold gloved hand are actually memories I cherish.

 

I remember the day it burnt down. My parents used to take the family there every Christmas.

I am 63 & will never grow up! I hate winter & the cold, but I ALWAYS do at least a couple of donuts every year. My parking lot/driveway is big enough to do them easily & Laura always rolls her eyes & says.... "You'll never grow up will you" to which I reply, NOPE & then I say....Besides you married me this way

When I was single (the second time) I donned "the suit" delivered some gifts and MC'd a party. It was a rare snowy evening here and Santa was driving his white 87 IROC Z28. Kringle didn't eat cookies, but he did a few of them (for about an hour) in the parking lot outside a Shari's cafe near my apartment. When I parked and came inside the staff said I had entertained the room and they bought me dinner.

 

Yep everyone should experience doing cookies, donuts in a snow covered parking lot at least once!

I just sang this to my wife, she loved it (the song, not my singing!) and it put a big smile on our faces, thanks!

 

Doing donuts was how I learned to drive in the snow. An older friend took me when I was 14 to a large snow covered parking lot and let me do donuts and controlled skids in his car. Talk about a trusting soul, after all there were overhead lights with concrete bases all through the lot. I'll always appreciate Doug helping me learn how to drive on slick roads......Don.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that one of the benefits to being a HAMB Alliance member (other than the cool dash plaque) is free bail bonds 24-7. We probably need to put Ryans cell number on here.

On the Plaza tonight in Santa Fe....47' Chevrolet fire truck. Santa said he was looking to upgrade the power plant and lower the front end this winter, after the holidays. Said he had a pretty sweet setup.....a heated shop, lots n lots of tools and plenty of helpers. Merry Christmas.....again.

 

That reminds me............we haven't had a good YOM post recently.
