I started collecting parts for this around 1985. Engine and frame from Dago Choppers in San Diego. Transmission pieced together from a repaired case, all parts from shops before the internet. Carb was an S & S "L" body, Fairbanks Morse magneto, Santee spun aluminum oil tank, original Bates solo seat, Performance Machine brakes, Panhead fork trees, Akront front rim. Took so long to get it this far that after I started it I decided I didn't want to be on the road with the "new" Harley riders in their distressed leather jackets and Evos so I shipped it to my brother in Florida as trade for stuff he'd given me. He still has it.
exempt.. I'd ride both of these, looks expensive..probley throw a rod In one of them the first ride talking about the RV and scooter of co****... wonder if the rv has the 318...
all three for me, if it's a chrysler it may well have the 440 in it. but then i have a lifetime of making bad decisions.
No problemo ! My '58 Sportster, taken at Knotts Berry Farm Lake. Rods for pegs and a Renault oil cooler.
Still no problemo ! 1955 Panhead. First picture is the day it arrived and the rest is when finished. Denver's frame and springer.
Thanks Sky Six, you've built some pretty cool bikes yourself. Digging your '58 Sportster. As we used to say back in the seventies, Righteous!
Post all the bikes you want, dudes. Let's see every awesome bike there is. This thread is cool already. I say ''BAH'' to the humbugs.
built this bike 25 trs ago... got 5 page write up in hot bike... i called It the PUB bike..."POOR URBAN BIKE ...ATLAS FRAME AND SS CRATE MOTOR
this bike is like a hot chick with double DD', big money spent on bolt ons...I need to trade it for a hot rod... my riding days are long gone... life is a fun trip... do what you can , "WHEN EVER YOU CAN" it's like blasting down the freeway... then you get off on the frontage road and slow way down....the farther down the road the more you slow down as the road gets ruffer.. I'm at the end of the pavement... on the wash board road... I emptied the bucket list.. and now on the Fuc it list... like.. Fuc it... I'll never do that again.....peace to all...
I remember that era....we went down to laughlin river run... I called it the costume party... never went back..
Nobody talking about rules. Kinda like this: over on the main board all the cars seem to have more to do with the users on the forum.
also , never told anyone what to do, just what I think. it was an opinion.. I think it's kinda cool when you look at the pic and get the history that goes with it...
did the oil cooler eliminate the oil bag??? when I built mine I had to cut a section out for the chain...???
No, the oil bag is in its correct place, just custom made and slightly smaller (width, depth, and height.
Amen.... I'm there... really never thought I lived long enough to "NOT" be able to ride "RIDE TO LIVE..LIVE TO RIDE"... so what comes next?
I bought this as a present to myself when I got out of the Navy, 1970 Bonneville. Riding like a madman it didn't take long to spin a main so in went an 805 kit. Had to put Mikuni carbs on it, the Amals couldn't feed it fast enough. Laced a Harley rim to the Triumph hub and put a fat Goodyear tire that barely fits between the frame. Still have it.
