I grew up in the world where the Tom Edison school of engineering prevailed, and every part of a car was hands on. I still have a thing for cars that are basically an engine, 4 wheels and brakes. Front engine, rear wheel drive hot rods and sports cars, Mario Andretti, and Steve McQueen. I've had a slew of those German air cooled cars too, but I like the dinosaur stuff from my childhood that are built that are built to get the job done on 20th century mechanical principles. But Edison was my childhood hero, and Snoopy as the WW1 flying ace.
Being Sasquatch like, and always surrounded by clutter, and half finished projects, I think Derek is who I would probably identify with most, but my ADHD is way worse.
The average Joe I'm not famous, don't know famous people, don't have a huge car collection, never been on TV...and it's the way I like it.
I have no idea who the guy in the mirror is …. But from the inside looking out…..I’m the spitting image of Cary Grant!
Hahaha! Back in the early 90's my boss nicknamed me "Ford" after his ^^^^ character [the name stuck for a while] I never wore leathers[ever] or the look, but he said it was my mannerism. Most people ***umed I was nicknamed after the car.
I thought you might appreciate this. https://www.facebook.com/oldtvshowh...ial-place-in-the-history-of/1123874443083581/
