Thanks Dennis, yeah now I have to keep an eye out besides shorter red tail light lenses, Now a speedo and combo gas/ oil / temp round gage.

Dummy me forgot to measure the whole sizes in the dash. I’ll have to add that to the list when I get back down there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Certainly an option if the diameter of the lenses will fit.

    Brand new gas tank.
Notice the trunk tail floor above the gas tank is super solid.

I kinda thought that they came with parallel leafs in the front but I wondered if they had that spiffy wavy axle or if that was earlier.
Swade41, your buddy did an awesome job on that car, it looks great g***er style. And a Ford in a Dodge? How nutz is that?

I retired this past May and have never looked back. I'll be glad when I get back to cars though. This house stuff is gonna kill me....

    Congrats.

Measured the dash 2 main gage openings diameter.
12” totally across the 2 holes with 1” separating the 2 holes.
So, now the hunt begins to find to fill (2) 5- 1/2” openings Speedo and Supporting Gages.

Drivers rocker rock solid above the running board. Amazing.
THE ONLY ( break through ) RUST SPOT ON THE ENTIRE CAR WAS THE P***ENGER ROCKER THAT’S IT ! Never have I seen a 87 year old car this rust free. Yes, there’s surface rust- I meant break through rust.
This is the rock solid drivers door sill plate rocker above the running board (1st pic) and the p***enger rocker ( Only breakthrough rust in the entire car) between the door and running board (2nd pic). Again, truly amazing. IMG_5180.jpeg IMG_5119.jpeg

Not yet. Still sorting it out.
Has a few spark plug wires I need the short boot them as the longer boot is up against the manifold.
I put new plugs in and runs a lot smoother as the others were carboned up and worn.
Has no exhaust from the manifolds back so louder than hell.
New exhaust on the list and putting on my NOS in the box Smithy’s mufflers from 30-40 years ago.

  16. Congrats on retirement. Keep the updates coming.

  18. In 1957 there was a guy named Fontleroy who built a 1938 Plymouth coupe like this and put a "Set back dual quad 1957 Cadillac engine in it" . He moved the seat back too so he was sitting back by the quarter window . It was the fastest car in our town for a couple of years. So it was in Sunland California in 1957.
