I was able to find a new set at an estate sale auction. I didn't save much but I got them. I was surprised they didn't go for over retail since they are hard to find. I also got one of the cast iron headers for less than 1/2 price.

Wheel is heavy spoke 16 inch from a South American ch***is. Rolled edge like a 21 inch A Model. Have a full set. Woo hoo.
Carb is 2 97s cut and joined to make a 4 barrell found on Ebay, out of East Coast USA. Another Woo hoo. Cheers mate.

Does anyone know this car? I pulled the photo from someplace on the HAMB (I think) a few years ago and it's about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I'd like more pictures and information about it. The engine could be Ford A or B, the port layout appears correct.

That one is pretty cool too, but I don't think it's the same car. For some reason my mind thinks the picture I posted is from Australia, not sure why. 4 wheel brakes too.

Either one would be a hoot to go ripping around in. I'd have to have 2 seats too, otherwise I couldn't properly scare my buddies, haha.

I solved the lack of driving issue. Took the coupe on a 140 mile round trip to catch up with friends at a Coffee n Cars event, then visited my ailing mother in the home she lives in - all on a near 100 degree F day - the car never ran over 160 degrees.
Today it’s wet weather …. As usual, or so it seems

Idk if he's in the forum but I went to SoCal speed shop around my house and saw this...it was a relief after all that construction traffic I had to endure

Although not very active on here for the past year, I was in the garage, finalizing my own banger race car, so I can compete against my good friend, whos car now (most likely) is purchaseable in a store near you- he broke his crank, so maybe race him next year. IMG_1097.jpeg IMG_1099.jpeg

Popped off the speedster for a visitor today. The ol' Akron-Hed sure sounds snappy with the choke pulled in a bit;)

Probably the last completed OHV - A-B head by Norm Frick. It has the intake manifold for 97s, water pump adapter, solid copper head gasket, and 2 spare rocker arms. Using a great core, Jim Brierley ground a cam specifically for this head that is included.
When I 1st contacted Norm about a head, my initial request was for one of his Ardun 4 ports, but he Informed me that he had long since retired from machining these After several flow up calls it was mentioned that he had a nearly completed Rutherford, and he might be convinced to finish it if I weren't in too big of a hurry. What you see here is what I bought from Norm over a period of about one year. Life , but mostly health issues sidelined me for too long and I've sold off the projects that I didn't have enough lifetimes left to complete. $6,000. Wishing everyone a great new year, celebrate it with people who bring you warmth and care.

anyone got an aftermarket emergency brake kit for cable emergency brakes sold a while ago as part of a juice brake conversion? I require the brackets that mount the front of the cables, or a diagram, so make fabrication a lot quicker. Thanks in advance

After the Northwood Hill climb, driving back to the fairgrounds my A decided to be a steam engine and blow head gasket. I quickly drove it onto the trailer, no questions asked, got home drain the coolant and tucked her away till I can get to it.
With snowmageddon coming and all my snow equipment is in good shape. I finally had time to pop the head.

IMG_0667.jpeg IMG_0669.jpeg IMG_0670.jpeg IMG_0668.jpeg I need to make one more of these lifting rings that fit in a spark plug hole
Just using a prybar through the Ring and on top of one of the studs, I was able to pop the head off without getting the hoist out.

This time the gasket leaked between number three and four. It also looks like maybe the copper part of the crush ring was hanging into the combustion chamber of 4.
