    I love this new thread!! Below are my recent findings from a British magazine called “ Speed” this issue in particular was published in 1937 and features California landspeed racing. IMG_1999.jpeg IMG_1822.jpeg IMG_1823.jpeg

    Another source of pre-war hot rod and custom history can be found in the “Throttle” magazines. I was fortunate to get myself a copy of the book that the Rodders Journal published of the scanned magazine pages of this incredibly rare piece of hot rod history.     wrapping lead wire (solder) around a spoke to balance a wheel is an old motorcycle technique...even in jolly old England.

    Thanks for the new info! I've been hunting as of a few days trying to find what sources and magazines i could find to get more info on anything pre war especially pre war customizing since motor trend, hot rod, and rod and custom only started publishing after the big boom of the late 40s, staring in 46 to the early 50s where it grew into what is more common knowledge, at least with kustoms
