Hello, Nice try on the legality of a lowered custom car for daily driving. Back then, as teenagers in our hot rod sedans, we were legal, until we got pulled over for something. Usually, it was a lowered car. Despite the fact that we were stock level height, the 4 p***engers (teenagers) made the normal level sedan, lower to the ground. Then the local police or CHP patrols pulled us over for the dreaded measurement stops. An earlier post showed how some folks measured how low the custom car is or was. As long as any part of the car is not lower than the rim of the wheel, it was deemed ok. A stock height car would become illegal with 4 teenagers due to the excess weight added. Thanks, @themoose A lowered rake stance leads to a pull over stop for the CHP. But, only if there were 4 teenagers. One or two usually stayed the same height, legal for all purposes. But, add in a full tank of gas, a double date scenario, or 4 teens cruising around, all lead to an illegal lowered car. Jnaki The funny thing was, as soon as we all got out of the Impala, the measurement took place and it was legal as far as everything being above the Buick Skylark Wire Wheels. So, there was that and a few chuckles… YRMV
Wow,that is interesting. Fitch's 300SL only 50mins. behind Fangio's 300SLR! Race versus road after 1000miles.
Last pic, second row back at stop light;a Honda S600 if I'm not mistaken. Rare bird in photos anywhere.
And I'll leave all you good blokes with a Happy New Year..and hopefully a better one(pigs on the ramp, ready to go!) Anyway, hope it is healthy and positive in all sorts of ways;but geez,it's gettin' harder, ain't it. Best regards,Rob.23:37 local.
